Thailand is located in the tropical
area between latitudes 5degrees 37' N to 20 degrees 27' N
and longitude 97 degrees 22' to 105 degrees 37' E. The climate
can me divided into three seasons as follows.
- Rainy (South West Monsoon) Season - mid
May to mid October
- Winter (Northeast Monsoon) Season - mid
October to mid February
- Summer (Pre-monsoon) season - mid February
to mid May
The best time for flying in Thailand
is from October to May although just because its rainy season
doesn't mean that it rains all of the time. On the contrary
I've had some pretty good flights during rainy season as conditions
are very unstable. On the whole the best time to fly is January
through to April so try and plan your trip during this time.
The cloud base is never more that 1,500/2,000 feet. Below I have
outlined some historic weather statistics from the Thai Met
office. |
